Generally, the rock mass of these spillways is assumed to be resistant to the erosive force of flowing water. However, the actual use of the spillways indicates that the initial rock resistance to erosive force of flowing water may be evaluated incorrectly. The key geomechanical parameters that affect erodability are still not precisely investigated.
